By creating a Pathsala account or signing a Master Service Agreement, the school agrees to these terms. If you're a student, parent, or teacher using a school's Pathsala instance, you're covered by your school's relationship with us — talk to your school admin first.
1. The Service
Pathsala provides a software-as-a-service platform for managing schools. Each school subscribes to a tier (Starter, Growth, Enterprise) that determines features, student limits, and price. Plans are listed at pathsala.org.
2. The 30-Day Free Trial
Every new school gets 30 days of full access at no charge. No credit card is required to start, and nothing is charged automatically when the trial ends. We email the school admin 7 days, 3 days and 1 day before the trial ends.
When the 30 days are over, the admin panel is locked until the school chooses a plan. Expiry by itself does not delete anything — pick a plan whenever you are ready, the next day or months later, and your school's data is exactly as you left it. If you cancel instead, our Privacy Policy sets out how long data is kept before it is deleted.
3. Subscription & Payment
- Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, in advance.
- Payments are processed by Razorpay.
- We issue GST-compliant invoices for every payment.
- Prices are in Indian Rupees and exclude GST. GST is charged separately at the applicable rate.
- We may revise prices with 60 days' notice. Existing subscriptions complete their current period at the old price.
4. Acceptable Use
Schools agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
- Use Pathsala to send unsolicited bulk communications
- Upload malware, illegal content, or content that infringes third-party rights
- Use the platform to harass, abuse, or discriminate against students or staff
- Share login credentials between people (each person needs their own account)
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the system without prior written permission
5. Your Data
The school owns its data. We store and process it on the school's behalf. The school can export everything at any time. On cancellation, data is retained for 30 days then deleted. We do not use a school's data to improve our service for other schools without explicit consent.
6. Our Service Level
- We target 99.9% uptime measured monthly
- Scheduled maintenance is announced at least 48 hours in advance, typically Sundays 02:00–04:00 IST
- Critical bug fixes are pushed within 24 hours; non-critical within 30 days
- Support is available Mon–Fri 9 AM – 6 PM, Sat 10 AM – 4 PM IST, by email and phone
7. Confidentiality
Both parties agree to keep confidential information confidential. This includes student records, fee data, and any non-public information shared during onboarding.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pathsala's total liability for any claim is limited to the fees the school paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
9. Termination
The school can cancel at any time from Settings → Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We may terminate for material breach of these terms after 14 days' notice and a chance to cure.
10. Governing Law & Disputes
These terms are governed by Indian law. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. We agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith discussion within 30 days before escalating.
11. Changes to These Terms
If we change these terms in a material way, we'll email every school admin 30 days before the change. Continued use of Pathsala after the change date constitutes acceptance.
